A dynamic information platform as an engine for urban renewal

The prevailing urban planning methodology today is based on static tools adapted, in essence, to the planning of new cities. These include the creation of master plans by municipalities, which set long-term policies, and do not allow for flexibility and adaptation to changing requirements over time.

However, a significant part of the planning takes place within the existing cities and therefore affects and is influenced by the existing reality in the urban space and the way the city develops and changes – residents, business owners, existing uses and more. The current work model, in which planners are at the top of the pyramid and their tools are only static, does not allow process planning that combines management and direct contact with users and therefore does not allow for consideration of “local intelligence” and street evolution.
